What I do and how I do it

The journey from conception, pregnancy, birth, and post-partum, is one of the most transformative ones that someone can experience in their lives. Whatever the path that has led you here, let me start by congratulating you and welcoming you to my little corner of the internet.

My desire is to provide an individually personalized support catered for each birthing person’s needs, be that of full Doula support, birth photography, in Malaga or individual coaching or counselling sessions to focus on specific needs that you might need to tackle being that before conception, during pregnancy or after delivery, which can be in person or online.

My approach is based in the mind body connection, providing you with the best evidence based information available and tools to thrive during pregnancy, birth and post-partum period.

I am a trauma informed Doula, Perinatal coach, mental health advocate, mindfulness believer, and a visual artist, and I’m always grateful to be witness of the resilience and transformation that the journey to parenthood brings to each person.

The Process

Introductory meeting

 On our first meeting we will get to know each other and see if we are the right fit so that you have the best support you need. We will discuss your hopes, desires and also some reservations or fears you might have. Take the opportunity to ask every single question you may have.

  • Tania is absolutely Wonderful! She went above and beyond to help us out and support us with the birth of our first baby. In the months leading up to the birth, she helped us prepare and learn… and more importantly, she helped us deal with past trauma (me) and anxiety (my partner). He went from being terrified of labour, to being super confident, comfortable and active throughout. During labour I felt supported by Tania every second of it and she advocated for me when I didn’t know how to do it myself. The staff wanted to put an internal fetal monitorin my baby’s head to measure his heartbeat, which was something that me and my partner were not comfortable with. With her quick thinking, Tania suggested to the hospital staff that I’d try a different position to see if the wireless monitor would pick up his heartbeat better. Tania helped us make difficult decisions during labour and her knowledge and experience were truly invaluable. She helped me change positions to make it easier for my baby to move down, she gave me the courage and strength I needed in the most difficult times. She kept me hydrated and as comfortable as possible. And I don’t know how she does it, but she also took the most amazing pictures of our labour, something that we will cherish forever!! For the postpartum she was also my rock, giving me advice on how to deal with it and making the most tasty placenta smoothie - which I really feel is the reason I have such a healthy milk production and no postpartum blues or depression. We were both so happy with Tania that is we ever have another baby, we would definetely have her as our doula again. I can’t thank her enough for all that she did. She will forever be special to our family. I recommend her to everyone I know.

  • I had the chance to have Tania Fragoso, storyteller/photographer, capturing the key moments of my labor and the first few hours after birth. I appreciated her "ninja" discretion while taking the photos that allowed me to stay in my bubble during labor. I also really liked her continuous availability: before, during and after. Indeed, before my labor started, she came to my place, we had a chat, she gave me some scents and a foot massage to help me relax. She also shared with me documents and links to help me with the preparations. On the day of the delivery, she arrived quickly and stayed as long as necessary and provided me with key advice, especially during the last phase when I was exhausted. And after birth she kept on offering me support. This is really precious to have someone like Tania in these moments!

  • I met Tania just two or three months before my due date. Boy, was I lucky she was available to work with us! She is kind, intuitive, experienced, a fantastic advocate, and really one of the best persons I have ever worked with to help me tune into my strengths. She helped guide me with meditation and draw a path with further support to help me prepare for a different, more positive birth than my first. She had a 360 approach and this included post natal visits and check ins. I was also so glad we worked with her for a coming home photo package. It was so lovely for her to capture pics of our precious baby and the spirit of our family. Anyone working with Tania is so very lucky and will be in warm, caring hands.

  • Tania was the photographer during my labor. Because of covid measures, she couldn’t go to the hospital with me, but I have to say that she was much more than a photographer or a doula. She offered support no only during the time she spent with me at home, and also after the birth of my daughter. She is very knowledgeable, she gave me tips about breastfeeding, she was very kind with me. Even though she couldn’t be with me at the hospital, I felt supported by her. I would love to have Tania in my next labor, as doula or photographer, doesn’t matter, because I trust on her and I am pretty sure that she makes difference in this very special moments.   • In our first birth, we had a less great experience with the Dutch midwife, we felt very unsuported during birth and not guided at all, so the second time around my husband and I decided to serach for a Doula that could be there for us. We first came into contact with Tania through a friend. The first time I met her I felt as if I had a close aunt with me, if felt familiar and safe. Tania was an active listener, provided information, guided us in this journey and truly came through by supporting my fear and trauma of birth, she gave me the tools to see this second birth as a totally new experience that could lead to a positive birth. We didn't even knew the first birth had left this scar in us, as we dealt with the pain it had caused before. Through hypnotherapy, long talks and home exercises (including meditation, thinking what a positive birth meant to me and how I could achieve it, relaxation techniques...) it prepared us for an amazing experience and for that we will never be able to thank Tania enough. Not only I felt supported, i truly felt in control, empowered and blessed. Wehad a beautiful daughter in the hospital (as planned) and although it went fast and Tania was not able to take pictures of the birth itself (as I needed her close to me), she surely captured the afterbirth timeline, emotions and surrounding as this beautiful and precious day that we will forever cherish in our hearts. Those were by far the best pictures I have ever seen of a birth. To this day I am not sure how she was able to capture all of that in such a short amount of time. After the birth she continued to be supportive and until this day we keep in contact. Thank you Tania for everything, you became part of our family and one of the best decisions we have made ever. Highly recommend!
